About SmartFlow Inventory
SmartFlow Inventory is manufacturing inventory software built for small precision manufacturers — CNC shops, job shops, and fabricators who need shop-floor stock and equipment tracking without enterprise MRP overhead.
Who built it
SmartFlow was founded by Jr Perez, a mechanical engineer and researcher at Lehigh University. Jr's work sits at the intersection of energy systems research and practical operations software: tools that hold up on a real floor, not just in a slide deck.
The company grew out of Lehigh's Baker Institute and the Hatchery, where Jr worked on energy systems research and on shipping software that manufacturers would actually use. That Lehigh inventory problem — counting parts, logging machine status, keeping a trustworthy history — is the product now called SmartFlow Inventory.
Our mission
We build reliable software for inventory control, machine tracking, and voice-first logging. The goal is to remove friction from day-to-day operations so teams can focus on production quality and uptime.
Why we built this
Factory teams need tools that are simple, fast, and dependable on real shop floors. Spreadsheets drift. Enterprise suites charge per order. SmartFlow Inventory combines voice logging, Excel/CSV import, and structured audit history so a small manufacturer can see what they have, where it is, and what changed.
What we value
- Reliability over hype
- Clear workflows over noisy interfaces
- Flat-rate pricing with no per-order fees
- Practical automation that saves time
Looking ahead
We are committed to continuous improvement with close feedback loops from operators, maintenance leads, and operations managers — the same people Jr sat with while building this at Lehigh.
